Underground utility mapping using GPR technology for Sterling and Wilson Pvt. Ltd

 

Scope of Work:

The scope of project is to map the underground utilities along the proposed locations in Bhagyam & Aishwariya oil field, in Barmer,Rajasthan.

GSSI SIR-4000 equipped 400 MHz, 200MHz, 100MHz antenna.

Challenges:

Unfavourable Temperature, Site inaccessibility.

Summary:

The utility mapping and GPR survey has been carried out at location Barmer, Rajasthan. The scope of project is to map the underground utilities along the proposed locations in Aishwariya & Bhagyam at the proposed stretch of 14.5Km & 9km respectively using non-destructive Ground Penetrating Radar technology. The purpose of the survey is to scan the proposed sites to map underground existing pipeline services, cables, etc. Considering the client's requirements and the expected depth of the utilities, the area has been surveyed using GPR technology by 400 MHz & 200MHz center frequency antenna mounted with SIR 4000 GPR system to cover the depth up to 3-6m with fair resolution. It also includes generation of 2D map with marked utilities alignment and depth information. It also includes generation of 3D view of subsurface of the scanned area with identified utilities wherever Applicable. Conventional processing of the raw data will be performed using commercial software RADAN7. A plan view along with sectional views have been generated with marked identified utilities. the located utilities were differentiated as metallic and non-metallic and classified as per ASCE standards.
