Scope of Work:

The scope of work includes the GPR investigation to map underground utilities up to depth of 6 m. The purpose of the survey was to prepare a plan of all underground pipelines in the GACL premises before the execution of expansion of the caustic soda and phosphorous plant to avoid any hindrances during project operations.

Location:

Inside the premises of GACL, Dahej, Gujarat

Client:

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL)

Equipment:

GSSI SIR 4000 equipped with 200 MHz and 400 MHz center frequency antenna.

Challenges:

Summary:

The GPR survey has been carried out at an area near Caustic Soda plant and Phosphorus plant of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited campus, Dahej, Gujarat. The scope of the work includes the mapping of all the possible utilities in the GACL campus, upto the depth of around 6 m using non-destructive Ground Penetrating Radar Technology. The purpose of the survey was to map all the possible underground utilities including cables, water pipelines, etc. in order to prevent the damage to the same during future construction activities at multiple locations. Considering the client's requirements and the expected depth of the utilities, the area has been surveyed using 200 MHz and 400 MHz center frequency antennas mounted with SIR 4000 GPR systems to cover the depth upto 6 m with fair resolution.
