Underground Utilities and Anomalies Mapping at Kolkata for Upcoming Kolkata Metro UG01 Alignment for L&T Construction.

GPR investigation to map underground utilities up to depth of 6m.

Summary:
The GPR survey has been carried out at three different proposed locations i.e., Victoria Garden metro station, Park Street metro station and Khidirpur Metro Station in Kolkata, West Bengal. The scope of the project includes the mapping of underground utility to prevent the damage to the same during the construction phase, up to the depth of 6 m using non-destructive Ground penetrating Radar (GPR) technology. The survey has been conducted in the month of March 2024. The purpose of the survey is to map all the existing underground utilities to generate a record and plan map of the proposed.
Considering the client's requirements and the expected depth of the utilities, the area has
been surveyed using 200 MHz and 400 MHz centre frequency antennas mounted with SIR 4000 GPR system to cover the depth up to 0-6 m with fair resolution.
