Scope of Work:	GPR investigation to map underground utilities up to depth of 10 m.

Equipment:	GSSI SIR 4000 equipped with 100MHz, 200MHz and 400 MHz center frequency antennas.
Summary:	The GPR survey has been carried out at proposed alignment of metro route in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The total stretch of road scanned was approximately 11 km and width of approximately 5 m each side of divider. The scope of the project includes the mapping of possible underground utilities up to the depth of 10 m using non-destructive Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology at Chennai. The survey has been conducted in the month of December 2021. The purpose of the survey is to map all the underground existing utilities including cables, water lines or any other utility to generate a record and plan map of the proposed. The aim is to plan the smooth execution of metro project without much interference to these existing assets. Considering the client's requirements and the expected depth of the utilities, the area has been surveyed using 100 MHz, 200 MHz and 400 MHz centre frequency antennas mounted with SIR 4000 GPR system to cover the depth up to 0-10 m with fair resolution.
