Underground Utility Mapping for Project Seabird PMC01 for ITD Cementation.

GPR investigation to map underground utilities up to depth of 6 m.

Summary:
The GPR survey has been carried out at Indian Navy base located near Karwar in Karnataka in the month of August 2021. The scope of the work includes the mapping of all the possible underground utilities in the area, upto the depth of around 6 m using non-destructive Ground Penetrating Radar technology. The area was divided into 10 different parts i.e. P1 to P10. The purpose of the survey was to map all the possible underground utilities including cables, water pipelines, gas lines, sewerage in order to prevent the damage to the same during development activities.
Considering the client's requirements and the expected depth of the utilities, the area has been surveyed using 200 MHz and 400 MHz center frequency antennas mounted with GSSI SIR 4000 GPR system to cover the depth upto 0-6 m with fair resolution.
